"Accepting discomfort has only one purpose: to help you take your life forward in a meaningful direction. Thus, in bringing up some discomfort in order to practice expansion, you are learning a valuable skill for transforming your life."
Harris - The Happiness Trap
Károly Kornél Schlosser
I am a PhD researcher in psychology in the Institute of Management Studies, Goldsmiths, University of London. My research project focuses on using contextual behavioural science with the vision to help people to live a more productive, vital and meaningful life.
At this end, in my private practice I hold therapy for individuals who experience low mood, anxiety or adjustment problems. Indeed, my work also focuses on organisational development (for example organisational behaviour, leadership, performance, psychological well-being, group cohesion, values) in order to help teams of people to function better towards their goals together.
My approach is solution-focused, honest, warm and, primarily evidence-based. I use elements of mindfulness-based cognitive therapy, acceptance and commitment therapy and applied behaviour analysis, which are consistent with contextual behavioural science.
I am a teaching fellow in King’s College instructing mindfulness and associate tutor in Birkbeck College in organisational behaviour and management. I previously I lectured in the University of Greenwich, the University of Westminster, Zayed University in Dubai, Károli Gáspár University in Budapest and Middlesex University.
I am a member of the British Psychological Society, the Association of Contextual Behavioural Science, the Hungarian Psychological Association and Hungarian Mindfulness and Contemplative Society.
My approach is direct, warm, honest and solution-focused. I apply evidence -based techniques of CBT, ACT and MBCT. Normally we meet weekly for sessions that last for 50 minutes.
I can help you if you experience: stress, anxiety, mood-swings, depression, headaches and pain, obsessive-compulsive disorders, relationship matters, anger, sleeping problems, low self-esteem, adjustment problems or, simply, if you would like to develop yourself.
I organise 8-week long mindfulness-based cognitive therapy training groups in English and Hungarian.
